Everybody’s favorite dalagang Pilipina makes a case for over-the-top as the new casual

Mimiyuuuh, internet sensation and self-proclaimed LOcq4l j3j3 gHuÖrl, is here to cap off Pride month and welcome Wonder’s youth-centric July, slaying, sashaying and, somewhere in between (though not seen in photos, unfortunately), vocalizing in a fun camp-themed fashion editorial.

For the 22-year-old content creator, this exercise in camp also doubles as a reunion-cum-collaboration. It brings together the creative minds of several long-time friends, all of whom are now members of the fashion industry.

Ebellished top and sheer skirt, HA.MU, bubble wrap skirt, ACBC, earrings, R E M U S

Lensed by fashion photographer Wilmark Jolindon and art directed by Jobo Nacpil, Mimiyuuuh takes on the bustling streets of Quezon City decked out in looks styled by siblings Angel and Abraham Guardian. It’s an unapologetic showcase of fashion’s rather performative function: an ostentatious display in all its glory and a friendly reminder that there’s always room for getting outrageous, silly, carefree and even ugly-pretty for those daring enough.

Makeup artist Janell Capuchino follows suit with her beauty looks, experimenting with watercolor hues and playing around with embellishments. Hairstylist Mycke Arcano, meanwhile, puts one twist after another on Mimiyuuuh’s signature bob.

I’M JUST GOIN’ TO THE STORE

Textured sleeves, ruffled seams, a printed corset and a wrap-around jacket: as you do on errand day. There’s no reason piling on textures, clashing prints and color-blocking can’t happen all at once[/

PRECIOUS CARGO

Futuristic can in fact meet old-timey romance: go ahead and overload on ruffles, experiment with mismatched earrings and complete the look with statement-making specs that are anything but cookie-cutter

LOVE. ANGEL. MUSIC. BABY.

Combine exaggerated elements like unusually large collars and pronounced puff sleeves with different takes on sheen and metallics. (A full sequined skirt is more than welcome here.) Consider this a nod to Harajuku fashion and the bubblegum pop aesthetic of Ashley O.
