Wonder Designer Lust List: All The Things We Wish Were Under Our Tree

Dear Santa (or insert name here)…

In the spirit of Christmas and the endless lists we make during this time, we temporarily shift our focus to all the things we covet and lust. From everyone’s favorite global designer labels to beloved local brands, we list down fashion and beauty wares—and all those in between—we wish were under our tree:

Bagasáo x Aly Kangleon

Get lit

We don’t know about you but we’re seeing designer candles everywhere. Perfect for setting the mood and warming up your space, especially for the holidays, the Bagasáo x Aly Kangleon candles (starts at P3,245) are on our lust list. The candle itself is made of soy wax and eco cotton wick, and is housed in Aly Kangleon’s beautiful and earthy ceramics. It also comes in two scents that might stir up emotions; Highway 1, which features fresh notes of sage, cedar, bergamot, lemon, vetiver, amber, benzoin and patchouli. Meanwhile Bodega, which is muskier in scent, features sandalwood, oakmoss, ozone, amber and dark musk. So, which one’s your pick?

LAIR by LORICO

Home is where the heart is

Looking for another candle option? Look no further than LAIR by LORICO (P1,200). Taking the saying, home is where the heart is quite literally, the label borrows inspiration from the night lights of Manila. It features a trilogy of scents—GHOST, PETRICHOR and 3:00AM—captured in human heart-shaped candles.

Calvin Klein Underwear

Look good almost naked (and feel great with your clothes on?)

We’ve stayed at home and in our pajamas for too long we reckon it’s time for an upgrade in the under-things department (no, just us?). While we love ultra-comfy, lived-in underwear, we understand the need for great quality (read: looks great, feels great and supports what needs to be supported) undergarments, whether for lounging around or wearing under a power suit when needed.

All that considered, brands like Calvin Klein Underwear come to mind, and we have our eyes on the CK One Logo Bikini (?1,015) and their Lightly Lined Bralette (P1,715)

For the boys, this pack of trunks (?1,785) is a steal:

Sanda in Bruce Pique by Carl Jan Cruz

“Don’t care just wear”

Say yes to a versatile piece like the Sanda in Bruce Pique by Carl Jan Cruz (P2,890). It comes in a great evergreen color (pun intended) and in a style that hugs the upper body in all the right places. Wear it indoors or outdoors, alone or layered under your favorite outerwear, during quarantine and even after. But that’s not the best part. We love it because it’s reversible and can be worn multiple ways. Backwards kinda day? You can put on the Sanda backwards, too.

Tan-Gan x Ha.Mu

The collab you didn’t know you needed

We love a good collab, one that combines the past and the present or contrasting elements, like classic and contemporary, maximalist and minimalist; you get where we’re going with this right? So when two forces in fashion a.k.a Tan-Gan and Ha.Mu joined their style DNAs together to make a collection that reimagines Filipino culture and makes it fresh as the holiday breeze, you know we’re here for it. Swipe to see pieces from their collection below:

NARCISO Eau de Parfum Ambrée

Take us back (to the beach)

Missing the beach and the warmth of sun-kissed skin? Us, too. But while we wait until we can travel safely again, we’ll settle for the bright and luminous scent of NARCISO Eau de Parfum Ambrée (P5,400 for a 50ML bottle). A cocktail of Narciso Rodriguez’s signature musk, exotic florals, like Madagascar, frangipani, and ylang-ylang, and cedarwood, the result is an intoxicating but light blend that will take you back to carefree and magical nights (or days) by the sea.

Gucci Socks

Pull up those socks

If we could ask someone to draw us in ~this~ and wearing only this, we mean this pair of Gucci socks (approx. P5,766.60). No? Anyway, socks make great gifts. They’re not only functional, they go with everything: boots, heels, sandals, sneakers—all kinds of shoes. And we think Gucci’s Alessandro Michele will agree. Socks, after all, play an important part in the brand’s design story.

Rouge Dior Couture Collection

Kiss the holidays hello (and 2020 goodbye)

Designer lipstick? Why not! The holidays are a great excuse to look good—even if no one else but the people at home or on that Zoom call can see you. There is, after all, nothing wrong with a little celebration, and wanting to look and feel extra.

Wonder Designer Lust List: All The Things We Wish Were Under Our Tree

All that comes in a matte black coffret with gold decor and Dior’s logo emblazoned at the front.

Rain or shine, sun up or sundown, the bucket hat is a stylish accessory that instantly adds cool to any look. Nude, 1998 at The Fore

Life imitates art

The Fore has come a long way since its inception in 2018. Founded and creatively directed by Kim Jones, the fashion brand has evolved into a lifestyle brand. They now offer beautifully created and curated pieces for the home, from ceramics to art. Currently, we have our eyes on Nude, 1998 (P30,000), a masterpiece by the late Inday Cadapan, a Filipino contemporary artist.

Her works, which often depict life, landscapes and female figures, carry social commentaries relevant to present times.
